HORRIBLE DON'T BUY!!!! November 6, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had so many problems within 2 months after buying the player it locked up while playing regular dvds it was like every time i went to play one it never failed to lock up and I would have to go and unplug the whole thing to get it all restarted. When I looked up my problem I found that plenty of other people where having the same problem. Sony hasn't oftered to do anything and you'd think they would since everyone seems to be having the same problem.

Sony unit is good. Only real problem is the speed that it loads the disk etc. is slow.
good deal but not that great October 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
$200 for a blu-ray player is a good deal, but this machine is pretty slow on power on, and also takes too much time to load, eventhough I updated the firmware, it's still running slow, for example Batman Begin takes like 2 mins to load and it goes straight to the movie, not the menu.
Good Dvd player for a budget price October 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So, based on many people's recommendations I bought this DVD player and upgraded the software. The DVD player takes time to turn on and play the DVD (about a whole minute). But once the DVD runs, it is awesome. There are newer models in the market right now. Im not sure what advantages they have over this DVD player. All I can say is, everything depends upon software. And if sony routinely upgrades their software, this DVD player will never go out of business
SONY BLUE RAY PLAYER October 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The picture quality is great, the only problem is the warm up time and waiting for the player to actually engage. I would hope that the later models have eliminated these problems. Otherwise, you can't beat the price, 299 dlls at this time.
