Awesome Sound October 14, 2008 These Sennheiser PXC-250 headphones are the real deal. I have tried other headphones and the combination of ease-of-use, portability, and sound quality make these hard to beat. The sound is fabulous when used in an airplane with my iPhone 3G. A great value for the price.
Better than expected. October 10, 2008 I take public transit daily which includes a bus and train ride. These headphones work great to cut out the background noise from both. They are comfortable and sound great for the price. My only hang up are the cords.
Can't handle office interference October 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I tried these out in a local HiFi store and found them to be very nice headphones. The sound was quite 'tinny' with the noise-cancelling circuit off, but a very rich and beautiful sound with the circuit engaged.
However, I ended up having to return them. It turns out that the circuit wasn't shielded against 2.4GHz spectrum, and in the office it suffered an incessant humm from the 2.4GHz devices. Most disappointing and I had expected more from a product designed to cancel noise in the office (I had purchased with the intent being to use them in the office, and for travel).
I would buy them again in a flash if they produced a model that was shielded from interference.
These healphones a OK but not great October 3, 2008 I looked at a variety of active noise cancellation headphones. The BOSE high-end ones were far an away the best in terms of eliminating external sound and sound quality. They are also very expensive and I just couldn't justify the price. I found the Sennheiser's to be the best under $100 so I went with them. They are reasonably comfortable, the sound isn't as bright as I would hope and the external deadening is very obvious but not as great a it should be faced with variations like people talking. If you are price sensitive then they are not a bad pick. If not then move to the next level or be disappointed.
Good for travel September 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought two pair of these for an oversees flight. The batteries easily last for the 9 hour flight. They were comfortable, not too hot and had good sound dampening cutting out most of the engine noise. They had good range for music and in-flight entertainment. No where near as good as the bose, but for less than 1/3 the price, I'd recommend them to a friend. Folded up easily for storage.
