Works with a few issues July 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for a 50" plasma and after a bit of work, it certainly holds up the TV just fine. It's a bit stressful to have that large of a TV on a rotating stand like this but it seems to be up to the task. So that's a big plus.
However, the lower bar on this mount blocked all the HDMI ports on my tv so I have to plug in my devices on the front panel plugs... not pretty. Additionally, one of the four screws needed to mount this to studs snapped in half when I was screwing it into the wall. I put in another smaller screw but that was disconcerting.
It is a very sturdy mount except for the screw issue and seems to hold up the TV just fine. Decent.
Works as advertised. June 20, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After much thought bought this mount. As most installers in my area were asking for $400 or more I proceeded to install this on my own. Beaware that this mount is quite heavy. But works wonderfully. I mounted a 52" Samsung A650 and it works great. It remains in the position that you want it to if you did the setup right. And that means balancing the TV by centering it on the mount. The only con that I can come up with is that the back of the TV stays about 4" from the wall even in the totally folded up position. Would definetly recommend it.
Heavy, sturdy and looks good. June 11, 2008 Purchased this to mount a Samsung LN40A6150 on the wall. The unit is very sturdy and is definitely heavy duty, yet the movement is smooth. The directions are pretty clear. The mounting hardware is packed very neatly.
The mount can be adjusted laterally (from side to side semi-permanently), in and out from the wall about 25 inches and tilted up down/left right. Mounting the unit is not hard, but it's not easy either. It's not the fault of the unit, it's just that it is heavy and you must be accurate in finding the center of two studs to mount the unit on. Don't rely on a stud finder! They are not always accurate ( I used a tiny picture hanging nail to punch little holes into the drywall until I hit resistance--which is the stud). Four large lag bolts are used to screw into 2 studs for support. I used a drill guide to drill very perpendicular holes into the studs. Hanging the TV requires two people. Done.
A very good product.
wow... very sexy! May 3, 2008 The installation was straightforward.. I was even able to completely mount my 46" Samsung LCD all by myself. Now that it is installed.. it is sturdy, and glides effortlessly left or right.. back and forth. It completely gives me a perfect viewing angle from any part of the room. Also, you can easily level the tv after installation so you don't have to worry about getting the leveling perfect when you install the mount. It's kind of pricey.. but man it is a really sweet mount. Its amazing that its sticking out two feet from the wall and I feel totally confident that it won't fall.
