This remote is perfect for me. I only really needed it for my TV because the one I had was starting to go bad (sometimes the buttons would work and sometimes not). It's cheap and works very well. Plus, it has an attractive design compared to many other remotes.

If you're tired of a stack of remotes on your coffee table, this is definitely one to look at. And don't be fooled by the low price! Other than the lack of backlighting, this should be able to run anything that has it's own remote. For me it's a stereo with 2 CD players, a DVD player, a VCR (yeah - still a bit lost in the 80's) and, thanks to the learning capability, it's running my television that there aren't any remote codes for. Even though I hadn't thought about before reading the reviews here, it's also handles my portable air conditioner. If you're teetering on whether or not to buy it, I say take the plunge. Awesome unit!

I've used the ONEforAll brand before and have been very happy with them. This one is the best so far. It was easy to program for my JVC DVD, Sony Surrround Audio Receiver , and Mitsubishi HDTV. There are macro buttons to record/play multi-command sequences. The BEST part is that any button on the remote can learn a function from the original remote that came with your product. After programming my JVC DVD player by trying all the included codes, I found that the play button didn't work, but all I had to do was teach the play button the code from my original remote by lining them up head to head, and then it worked fine.

I considered a much more expensive universal remote but decided to give this one a try first. It works just fine. Programming was pretty straight forward and just required a bit of patience. The learning mode worked well too. I needed to use it because my model of TV was too new to have been programmed in.
While not perfect, this product is a great value.
