This sub has some serious output. I'm only using about 30% of the power and thats enough to make the walls tremble as if you're in an earthquake. I seriously recommend this sub to anyone that loves feeling as if they're in the movie they're watching.

I purchased this to fill in the low end of a Polk Surroundbar-50. The room is 20'x40'x11' ceiling and the 505 has no trouble generating the pressure for clear, loud base. Better yet, it was discounted $200 when I purchased the SB50. Furniture-wise it's not the most attractive sub out there but sound-wise I'm completely satisfied.

I'm totally happy with this purchase. I looked at many different subs before picking this one. This is probably THE best bang for the buck out there with more than adequate power. Set up is quick and easy as is operation. I strongly recommend this sub! Free/fast shipping from J & R Music World. Go for it!
Excellent Bass January 7, 2008

Excellent bass reproduction ! This is what I expected from Polk. Couldn't have asked for more at this price. Fills up my 300 sqft family room. I have it turned up only 1/2 way up and plugged in directly to the subwoofer channel on my Harmon Kardon (instead of Polks recommendation to connect through the front channels). I found this to be a more practical installation given the wires I had to run through the walls and also didn't find any difference in sound quality between the two implementions.

I bought this sub based upon other reviews, both here and other audio forums. The Polk always had good to excellent reviews. Coupled with the price of this sub, you can't go wrong. It does what it's supposed to do and that's deliver lots of booming base.
I watched "Matrix", (which BTW is a good movie to test a sub)and was blown away by the power and sound. It literally shook the walls and you could feel the vibrations deep inside! It's for that reason I give it 5 stars!
I can't compare it to other subs because this is the first high powered sub I have owned but, I can't imagine another sub sounding any better.
