Motorola reciever excellent product for a great price February 17, 2007 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had a Motorola unit which no longer worked. After shopping around for another unit in stores I realized I should try to replace the unit I had since it has everything I wanted including the DVD player. I was extremely pleased to find one for sale at a great price delivered to my door!
Good - All in one system February 7, 2007 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am very pleased with this product. I like the fact that it is an all in one system (including CATV tuner). My only negative is that the unit is very large (long in length). I use it to drive an infocus IN72 projector using s-video and surround sound speakers.
good value - great sound January 26, 2007 Not sure what all the gripe is about with this unit. I have had mine over a year and it hasn't had any of the problems others have stated (maybe I'm lucky). No sound distortion, clean crisp at high volumes (I'm using Precision Audio ceiling speakers). Good radio station pickup. Good dvd performance. I really enjoy the Dolby Prologic II- as even our ITunes files get surround sound.
That said, the only issue I have had is when i turned the powerbar off while the unit was still on. When restarted sound only came out of one speaker and not all five. I got through right away to Motorola and they were very helpful and gave me a short set of instructions to go about resetting the unit- it now works good as new... below are those instructions for anyone who needs them:
1. put the unit in DVD mode. 2. power off using the button on the front of the unit (do not use the remote) 3. Hold down the setup button and the 'down' button at the same time 4. While holding those buttons, press the power button on the unit 5. Release all three buttons at the same time Unit should power up in the FM mode and be reset. Motorla says if it doesn't come up in the FM mode, try again.
Happy listening and watching...
Useless paperweight December 4, 2005 12 out of 17 found this review helpful
Worst audio product I've ever purchased. Can't even use the RADIO without terrible interference & static. Any audio input run through this piece of junk comes out the other side muffled & popping. Really not any value here. Motorola even replaced my item with a brand new one once....same problems. So, basically, this thing was designed by the Motorola summer interns.
Great for the price! October 27, 2005 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
I picked up a refurbished unit, it was supposed to have been new with a damaged box. It had the front display panel protector peeled, and the cable box number cut and taped to the manual. This indicated to me it was a return i.e. refurb instead of new damaged box.
I didn't buy through Amazon. I only paid $125 including shipping.
It works great for this price, I haven't activated the cable box because analog cable works like any TV tuner would. I don't subscribe to digital cable.
I'm happy with mine.
