Customer Reviews:
unbeatable value August 7, 2008 This thing was worth every single penny period. It is very loud, and it has many great features. I love that it has an HDMI output, it really helps in up converting standard definition DVDs. This thing has other great features, such as an Auxiliary input, Ipod dock, and USB port. The remote is easy to use and has a great layout. All of the speakers are labeled, and the wires are colour coded, so anyone can set it up without any problems.
If you are looking for an all in one box set up, this is it. 11 months later I can honestly say, I would buy this again without hesitation.
Good product, great customer service August 5, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The first DVD player with surround sound speaker system I recieved was defective. The sound was amazing, but the DVD player itself would not play DVDs properly. I alerted the seller, and was instructed to send the DVD player back to them (this was a refurbished DVD player, by the way). Within about a week and a half, I received a new refurbished DVD player, and haven't had any problems since. Now the product works great!

Great system. Big Bang for your buck. Sound is more than adequate for the normal listener. Set-up is easy if you read the book. If you want an extended warranty, buy it at Amazon..it's about half the price of Philips.
excellent January 31, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Yeah, so I bought this in, I think, May of last year when I graduated from High School. Then it cost two hundred dollars, which is very reasonable for a complete Home Theater System with 1000 watts of total, peak power. The speakers have hardwired plastic ends and cheap 20 gauge wires, but it's simple to splice the wires, most people are just really lazy and don't want to do it; of course, not that it'd help sound quality. The wires it includes are quite long and can accommodate all but a mansion-sized living room. (not that you should even have the rear speakers on your rear wall, rather directly behind the prime viewing area.) and the iPod dock is quite handy, though, as mentioned by others, is cheaply constructed. The dock also has a problems with changing the volume, so when you wish to turn up your tunes, you must get up and turn the volume manually on the theater system. Over all, I highly recommend this, it's a good starter home theater in a box system and can impress with its high sound quality. It has up sampling for your CDs and is compatible with DTS cds.
Pros: -HDMI, S-Video, composite, and audio out outputs. -Coaxial Digital Audio input -iPod Dock -100 Watts of total Power -DTS enabled (standard these days) -USB enabled inputs, along with headphone jack in. -Divx compatible -DVD playback region can be changed with the remote
Cons: -plastic Hardwired speaker wires -iPod music can't be turned up with the remote -Disc Tray seems flimsy, but it's current style.
