the unit works well and is fairly quick in changing a vhs to disc. i am satisfied with the product

I received it in good time and though the manual power button on the front of the machine does not work, it seems the remainder works with the remote control. I am still testing out the entire system, but so far there have been no other problems with it.

Received Emerson DVD Recorder/VCR in timely matter, but DVD did not work. Returned to DiscountJungle for credit. No e-mails received acknowledging their receipt of product and in turn no credit to my credit card. Called 800 number and left message but no reply. As of today 6/1/08 still have not received credit for purchase.

I wanted to tape TV shows and then put them on a DVD to save and share, also wanted to be able to cut out the commercials.
I also wanted to be able to share the shows without knowing or caring what kind of DVD +/- or whatever a friend's machine could play.
This machine does it all. I can record on tape or disk, easily copy from tape to disk or disk to tape. I can cut out the commercials and make the disk readable by any machine.
The instruction book isn't the best, it is a bit confusing, but once I started using the machine I really didn't need the instructions very much.
I did a lot of research on different brands on Amazon and elsewhere before choosing this machine. The features and price were exactly what I wanted and I've been very pleased with it.
