Just not needed... December 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There's no need for "shielding" and all these nonsense specs in an HDMI cable. It's a digital signal. Analog signals need shielding, heavier gauge copper for long runs, etc. Digital does not.
I bought the cheapest one at Monoprice, the cheapest one on Amazon, and compared to a friend's Monster there's no difference. His whole rig uses Monster cables for video, so we swapped for a week. I used one on my PS3 and one on my 37" 1080p HDTV from my cable box (SA8300HD) and there is absolutely no difference, with the same monitor/PS3/cable-box with the dirt-cheap cables vs. Monster. NONE. He agreed completely, although it's too late for him to send his back. He's got them up on a popular auction site now to try and recoup some of his lost investment.
Don't buy this. It's not necessary, will not improve your video or audio, and is simply overkill for a digital signal that either works or doesn't, with no loss in quality amongst differing cables.
Complete misinformation. DON'T BUY MONSTER December 4, 2008 Like most audio/video-philes here I decided to spend some cash on the HDMI monster cable hoping to maximize my viewing pleasure. Well, if they have a case for analog cables (I'm starting to doubt it) it's complete rubbish for digital signals. It either works or it doesn't. The quality difference between the cheapest $5 cables and this monstrosity is ZERO. Don't fall for the hype and buy this.
This delivers! December 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a man who constructs telegraph networks for a living, I like to think I know a little 'bit' about cables, and I'm here to tell you that these Monster HDMI cables work flawlessly! Believe you me, when it comes to dits and dahs, there's no room for noise!
Each and every bit of data that these cables transmit experience Dubai-esque luxury as it is personally palanquined from your hi-def source of choice to the visual banquet. I know I have never seen discrete signals this pampered!
So when it comes time to choose between mere 'conductors' and a personal Pullman sleeping car attendant for your 1080 train, I think we both know that shameful waffling and womanish indecision must yield to the clean cut of a decisive answer!

Absolute waste of money December 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I "upgraded" to this cable from the $20 cable I bought at my local drugstore and there was no difference in picture quality. None. At all.
Sent it back.
Obnoxious Company Too December 4, 2008 Monster cable sues anyone who uses the word "Monster" in their company or business name, including small, family-owned businesses in completely unrelated fields (mini-golf, vintage clothing). So the fact that the product they sell is an over-priced rip-off is not surprising.
