not an lcd picture but very good HDTV October 1, 2007 before buying this sony i did a lot of comparing, from going into stores to reading every consumer report i could find, having a samsung 40 L.C.D. and not wanting to spend 3,500 to 4,000 for a bigger t.v . i finally got the sony, you will not get the same picture as a l.c.d. thats what i was hung up on ,, however you do get a very good picture. i do a lot of gaming also so the response time was also a factor,, l.c.d. paint the picture something like 8 millisec.. fast but not as fast as the sony does ,something like 2millisec..H.D.channels are great standard ok but they are just ok on my L.C.D. also.. bulb replacement every 2 years more or less should not be a problem easy to do for about 249.00 max.. i looked at all the brands of projection hdtv..i did not want to chance seeing the rainbow effect that DLP can produce, and did not like the picture with the new samsung led light source too dark too new ..all in all for the money a very solid hdtv..
Great Picture Great Versatility Average Sound September 24, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I replaced an older Sony rear projector to get HD. Everything is similar, and up to Sony standards. The picture is great, and the set is capable of 8 inputs. I can't talk about tuner performance, because I'm running directly from a DirecTv HD receiver via HDMI. The sound is not very good, however. If you are serious about listening quality, you should hook this set up to an audio system. Originally, I wanted a flat screen, but this is soooo much less expensive. If you can stand a set that is about 17" deep, this is a great choice - and the price keeps coming down - and Amazon ships for free!

Needing a new tv to give better picture for gaming on PS3 & just ready for some new technology!! we did research & decided this would be the best. Read the reviews.. & yes regular channels aren't that great.. but not the fault of the tv.. Awesome picture.. super clear... Would recommend this to anyone who asks.. & even if they don't.. have told everyone about it!! Watched the movie 300 on blue ray the other night & it was incredible!! Excellent price for the product. Delivery was done in a decent time frame & delivery company was awesome.. phone calls about delivery date & time & on day of delivery. Just an overall awesome product & job from Amazon!!
Excellent Television August 6, 2007 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought this TV back at the end of May, and I have thoroughly enjoyed having it. Picture wise, I think it outclasses any RPTV on the market right now. Standard Def is acceptable, while HD is unbelievable. I also hook up my PC through the HDMI input and that looks amazing as well. The VGA PC hookup is worthless and Im not sure why Sony wasted there time putting it there if you arent going to allow 1920 X 1080 resolution. The only real drawback for me is that there are only 2 HDMI inputs. Im already using both so if I purchase a Blu Ray, that means the cable box will be going to component. Unfortunately component doesnt accept 1080P on this tv. However the A2000 and A2020 are really last years technology so for the price its still a great deal. So to summarize, if this TV had 3 HDMIs or component accepted 1080P it would be great. But I have to knock it a star because of those factors.
Movie Screen in your Living Room July 7, 2007 3 out of 10 found this review helpful
I was informed that the reception on this set was just as good as Plasma and LCD's and 2 Thousand cheaper. If you have room for the extra width I would definitely get this product. Sports and Films take on a new life in H.D. The only problem is the majority of Television is not in H.D.
