2 out of 5 stars Flimsy Cord   December 6, 2007
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I had these for about a year before the cord developed a short just from regular use and storage in the included box. They had good sound and were comfortable after I got used to them, but start to hurt after long periods of use. Wouldn't buy again... They've turned me off to the small $50+ in-ear headphones for fear they'll break too easily.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good earbuds   May 9, 2007
I recently purchased these panasonic earbuds, and I have been very pleased with them thus far, great sound, and very durable. I like that it comes with 3 different sizes to fit your ears. The asymmetrical headphone cord is my only complaint. It makes your MP3 player very difficult to use in some settings. Don't buy these if you want to go running with them. They work for some other athletic activities like biking though.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing   April 24, 2007

I had high expectations for these earphones after reading the first 5 reviews, but I was very disappointed. The sound quality is weak, especially the bass; the lower grade earphones that came with my MP3 player produce a much richer sound. The only positive is that they are very comfortable.

2 out of 5 stars Could not get these to sound good   April 18, 2007

I've collected quite a few nice headphones, and I enjoy trying new products, and with headphones, it's interesting to buy and try other brands/models, since you can get pretty good sound without spending a lot.

So far, I've heard earbud and IEM (In Ear Monitor) models from high end brands such as Etymotic Research, Shure, Ultimate Ears, and others. For more casual use, I've been looking for good earbuds (easier to use than a pure IEM).
After seeing pictures of this earbud from Panasonic, and reading the rave reviews, I decided to give these a try since they are a pretty good deal offered here on Amazon at around $62+

The presentation of these headphones is nice, they feel solid and are funky looking. They come with a metal case which looks like a card case, and it comes with a short cable (just long enough to place your MP3 player in your pocket) but includes with cable extension so you can plug them into your desktop stereo/computer

The metal case looks impressive, but is not that useful as it's thin and takes too much work to put the headphones into it. You have to snap the two headphones together, and insert them into the fitted foam, and they wind up the cable and insert them into the netted section. All too fussy to do on a day to day basis.

As for the sound, I just could not get these to fit into my ear. I tried all three rubber tip sizes. The sound was harsh, with too much treble and a very weak bass. If I really really pushed hard on them to force a tight seal, the sound improved a lot but they my ears started hurting. The bass was very full sounding, maybe a bit underdamped even, but the treble was still a bit too much, a bit too brash sounding. I'm pretty used to forward and bright sounding headphones (I own the $200 Etymotic ER4S which are quite bright and detailed IEMs)

I'm not sure what else I can do, but in the end, I'd have to rank these a distant third place behind the other two high grade earbuds in the under $100 range (Audio Technica ATH-CK7 and Sony EX90). Even when I force them to seal well in my ears, they just didn't sound as good as those other two.

So as always, your own experiences may vary, but I'd advise you to give the others ones a try first before these ones, and buy from a place that allows returns.

5 out of 5 stars Good set of earbuds   March 15, 2007

These give a great sounds and fit well (nice case too). Good price as well since they are like 150 on Panasonic's website. Unfortunately, it has an asymetric cords, but I have learned to deal with it.
