4 out of 5 stars Great earbud design   August 29, 2008
I bought these headphones specifically for running. The standard white earphones that came with the iPods would stop working, I guess because they get wet with sweat. I had never used this type of design before and it is simply great, the earbuds stay in place perfectly and are very, very comfortable.

For a while I could not understand why the chords connected to the earbuds had different lengths, and the longer one was kind of a nuisance while running, flapping around my neck. I recently realized that if I placed the longer chord behind my neck and into the ear, the fit would be perfect and the flapping problem was gone.

One minor problem is that the chord does not lose its coiled shape, and it tangles very easily; it took me several minutes to unravel the cables before a run until I decided to wind it around the iPod.

Sound quality is very good, at least enough to enjoy during a run.

4 out of 5 stars Love them!   August 27, 2008
This is my second pair of these headphones. They lasted about a year (5 days a week use) before I needed to buy new ones. I like the twist and fit action that keeps them in my ears when I run (even if I get really sweaty!) The only thing I didn't like was how flimsy the cord is,(I used the clip and if you slide it too much it will split the casing of the cord.) And the ear buds were a bit hard to get used to in the begining...

Other than those two things I would buy a third pair when these go out!

3 out of 5 stars Fits nicely, but bad quality   August 27, 2008
I bought these earbuds to go with my ipod nano. I like the buds...they fit well in the ear and have several different sizes that are interchangable. However, the connection is not very good. A lot of times I will only get sound in one ear, then I will need to fiddle with the connection to get it to play in both ears.

5 out of 5 stars My workouts are completely different now   August 25, 2008
I was sick of working out and spending a majority of my time putting my headphones back in or holding onto them so they do not slip out. I went online for the search for new headphones just for working out and I ran across these headphones and bought them based on the reviews. Man, my life of working out is completely better. I no longer have to stop and put my headphones back in or slow down so I can keep them in before they fall out. My workouts are longer and harder now that I don't have to worry about the headphones.

One note is that if I wear them for a long workout my ears are sore for a few minutes but it fades fast and is well worth it.

Enjoy!

1 out of 5 stars Great Idea, Bad Execution   August 25, 2008
The Sennheiser MX55 earphones are overall a failed product. The sound quality is mediocre at best. Sometimes the sound will muffle because it can't handle any bass whatsoever and when there's no bass the sound seems so tiny. The sound feels more outside your head than inside, which is not good. As far as the stability of the earphones on your ears, it's only average. I'm a baseball pitcher which requires a lot of long distance jogging. After a game when I'm running poles, I find myself pausing a lot trying to fix them back into my ear. When you run, the wire will bounce off your chest, and because the earphones are not very secure, it won't be long before you have to twist them back in your ear. This is very tedious and after about a week of putting up with it, I stopped using them. The case it comes with is pretty much pointless because it doesn't protect the earphones at all, only the wires. I regret getting these earphones, I would not recommend them to anyone. I got some Philips ear phones that have a plastic piece to wrap around the back of your ear and they work like a charm, the sound quality is average on those but its so nice not having them fall out when exercising. If you're looking for sound quality then get the Skullcandy Smokin' Buds, they're amazingly crisp and the bass is great.

So, whether you're looking for sound quality or exercise phones, the MX55 is not it. Check out something else.
