Wonderful Headphones December 3, 2008 I just received these headphones with amazon's wonderful free shipping. They are amazing because they block out almost all the noise and I can't hear people talking. This is good when listening at home but can be dangerous when running or driving. The only con is that when the headphone wire is bumped, i can hear it through the headphones. (kinda like tapping on earplugs)
tricky with iphone December 2, 2008 won't say anything about the sound quality, which is amply addressed by everyone else--but these don't fit in the iphones with recessed jacks unless you do some handiwork with a razor blade. it's actually more difficult with this set of headphones than with many others. i've modded about 5 different kinds for my iphone, and the plastic on the er6i's is the hardest.unlike previous er6is, the jack on these is l-shaped, which i also don't like as much. but then the jack on my previous ones broke (which is why i reordered), so maybe they changed it for a reason.
Awesome... if you get the foam tips November 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are truely amazing earphones (especially if for motorcycling) but be sure to use the Comply foam tip P-series from the ear plug store. The flanged tips never seated correctly for me and I almost returned the earphones until I tried the foam tips. Totally lives up to the hype. It cuts off outside noise (I can't even hear my girlfriend when the music is off) and the sound is top notch. But only with the comply foam tips. Be warned.
Great Sound but build quality lacking November 13, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased the earphones in February 2007 and one of earpieces quit working in March 2008 just out of the 1 year warranty. They were used less than 50 times and cared for by an anal retentive adult. The sound was good but my ears would get sore from the earpiece after a while. I have thought about buying another pair because I liked the sound quality but don't want to spend $100 on something that may only last a year.
Gets the job done...well. November 7, 2008 Pros: excellent noise isolation, small for portability, snug fit inside the ear canal, excellent sound quality, decent bass, decent price.
Cons: you can hear your own heart beating, does not come with alternate sized 3-flange tips for variable fitting, thin wire (which may or may not be an indication of quality), cheap pouch.
This is the first pair of in-ear earphones that I've ever purchased. It is also the first product that I've purchased from Etymotic Research. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and would consider buying from them again in the future.
