Surprisingly Good Sounds, full range October 4, 2008 I bought these after I finally wore out my standard iPod ear buds from working out, traveling, etc. Wow! These have a much fuller range of sound, from fairly low bass to high pitches, and the overall balance feels very "right." I always thought the iPod headphones were too high on the treble, not enough bass, and a little flat in mid-range. These cheap JVC headphones are a real bargain!
Not gummy enough May 22, 2007 Purchased these ear buds for iPod. Regular buds never fit right and I hoped these "gumy" headphones would be soft enough to hold their shape and stay in place. No such luck! Gummy seems NOT to refer to the part where the bud connects with the ear. Sound quality very good, buds just not comfortable enough for me. My man likes them, though.
Great earbuds for the price March 31, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you are looking for a good pair of earphones and don't want to pay alot of money, I highly recommend these. I bought these for an MP3 player, mostly to listen to audio books, but some music as well. They perform quite well (better than iPod earphones I think) with good sound quality. Power is more than sufficient (I have to turn the volume almost all the way down so that its not too loud). My only complaint is the comfort. They are reasonably good for about 30min then start to hurt my ears. They fit relatively snugly, but do not block the ear canal, so they do not block out outside noise.
I havent tried the more expensive buds, but when I bought these I didn't want to pay a ton of money for what I was using them for. If you want an inexpensive set that works well, these are great.
Nice Sound for price March 15, 2007 I am satisfied with my new headphones. They're are very convenient in the workplace as well as my iPOD. Nice clear sound and nice length on with the connection wire.
Work well for their purpose (and their price) March 15, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These buds are definitely a step up from the standard iPod buds. They stay in your ears much more easily (without the foam black covers, which are easily lost), the sound is at least marginally better, and the overall construction seems to be better. You can't do much better for the money.
However, if you're willing to spend a little more, the JLab JBuds are the way to go. I own both the Gumys and the JBuds, and the Gumys are my workout pair, and I use the JBuds for everything else.
But if you're looking to spend as little as possible yet still upgrade from the iPod buds, the Gumys are the way to go.
