5 out of 5 stars Best earphones around -- get them while you can.   January 12, 2008
I stumbled on these a few years and and have since purchased four more because I don't think Panasonic makes them anymore. I've previously owned Sony and Sennheiser ear buds that didn't last very long.

Pros
Great sound
Very sturdy .. the cord is made from hard plastic, most earbuds now come with soft rubbery cords that easily rip and tangle. These will last you a very long time
Waterproof
Over the neck design (one longer that the other) is great

5 out of 5 stars Love Them.   August 19, 2007
About four years ago, I bought a blue pair of these in the duty free shop before getting on a plane in the UK. Until this morning, when I found one of them crushed under a box, they were the best headphones i've ever had. Not only was the color pretty, but they always sounded wonderful. I had no idea they were water-resistant until i started searching for the product number in order to get another pair. I've never had a problem with other people being able to hear what i'm listening to, which comes in handy when using them in a quiet art class. I'll be getting a silver pair here cause the blue ones are only in the UK. Au revoir, sweet blue.

5 out of 5 stars deep bass with high quality treble   October 30, 2006
i have tried the sony E828LP as well as the standard ipod earbuds. Compared to those, the panasonic was definitely the best.

At first, I wasnt into the hype of having to use foam cover because they always get lost or deterorate. while listening to it like this, i was really disappointed in the earbuds because of the extremely high treble but tincan-like bass. it was so bad that it went to the point where i wanted to just tear the earbuds apart. good thing my friend recommended me to try on the foam covers and to my amazement, the earbuds sounded extremely good. the bass was really deep and the treble was really soothing and comfortable. i'm a really picky guy and i listen to a lot of r&b and techno, so i need the deep high quality bass. this lil earbud supplies just that.

although the sound quality amazes me, i find the wiring design annoying. I'm more into the V-shape wires like the sony and standard apple earbuds, however this is a minor issue when taking into the account the quality the earbuds produce. another problem was that when panasonic tangle-free wiring, it isnt so tangle free. sony does a way better job in that category with their earbud.

so the panasonic sound amazing, but compared to the standard ipod earbuds and sony E828LP earbuds, how does it fair? the sony earbuds produce adequate music with more of a popping bass than deep and a little weaker treble. the ipod earbuds has a decent bass and treble, however it sounds as though it is muffled.

in the end, the panasonic is still the best in terms of sound, just not design.

2 out of 5 stars A disappointment   April 25, 2006
I bought a pair of these earbud headphones as replacements for my broken-down iPod earbuds, after reading a couple of good reviews about it. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the results. First of all, listening with the earbuds "naked" (without the caps), the bass is nonexistent and the treble is painfully high. Even the iPod earphones delivered better sound quality than these things. Using the provided caps muffles the treble to a degree where the bass becomes audible, but still lacking.
Also, the "around-the-neck" style that they're supposed to be worn in (the reason for the cord of the right-side earbud being much longer than the left) is annoying. First of all, anyone who wears a collar will have to deal with the part of the cord behind your neck, which will look very sloppy. Also, whenever my shirt rubs against the cord, it has a tendancy to tug on the left earbud, which falls out quite easily, even when wearing the caps.
In the end, I got so fed-up with this pair that I decided to go out and buy a pair of Griffin EarThumps.
The only good thing about this product was the case, but other than that, I don't recommend getting this if you listen to rock or any other sort of bass-heavy music.

3 out of 5 stars Average Headphones   April 7, 2006
3 out of 3 found this review helpful

I just picked up a pair of these headphones this week. Other than the look, I'm not overly impressed with them. I'm using them with my iPod mini. I find that even the generic iPod headphones sound just as good if not better than these. These headphones are also pretty quiet. I have to turn the volume on the iPod much louder in order to get the same volume as the iPod headphones (maybe that will change once they're broken in?). Another problem or rather disappointment I had was with the length of the wire. The wire for the right earbud is almost 3 times longer than the left. This is to keep the wire off to the side of your body instead of in the middle. The problem with this is when I jog, the extra weight on the left earbud causes it to constantly pop out of my ear.

Bottomline -> If you're looking for great sounding headphones, look elsewhere, but for the cheap price you'll get a cool looking, decent sounding set of headphones. 3 stars.
