5 out of 5 stars Excellent Headphones   September 3, 2008
I have used these headphones for over two years, and they have suited me well. The sound quality is good, and I like the fact that the cord goes around the back of the neck.

4 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars, but rounded up--Excellent detail, but where's the bass?   March 15, 2006

When reading about the twin xbs ports, I thought that these buds would provide ample bass in a small package, but I was wrong. The bass seems to have stayed at the factory in a box somewhere, hidden away because there's little to be found in these. If you want lots of details and really accurate highs, then these'll do a great job for you. If you want bass with the package, really don't bother. A clean sound is worth the money, but the lack of bass doesn't do it for me. If you want to pay a similar price for similar (if not better) detail but want more bass, check out the Sennheiser mx400s which I also reviewed.

One thing I should mention is that the cable to the right bud is longer than the one to the left, so you wrap it around the back of your neck. Great for if you need to pop them out in a hurry, they can rest around your neck conveniently.

I almost forgot to mention this so this section will look out of place, but these can get mighty painful when worn for a long time as well...

Consider all and check out my other reviews before buying!

2 out of 5 stars Good Sound Bad Fit   March 1, 2006
I bought these to replace my iPod headphones. The sound is good but the comfort is amazingly horrid. Anyway i fit these in they either fall out or hurt my ear. I'll be looking elsewhere.

3 out of 5 stars Information Deficit   December 28, 2005

My primary complaint is one that has become much-too-common. It seems that products are routinely sold with bare or no basic explanation of operating features, specifications, etc. A ton of money is typically spent making products sell themselves at points of purchase, but little is invested to ensure that consumers don't become frustrated over the information gap once the package is opened. The earphones are a good case in point. Why is the left piece a foot shorter than the right? I certainly wanted to know because I've not encountered this spec in 45 years of electronics-tinkering. It was only because another Amazonite had the same question and shared his good guess with us. The package also seems to brag on its face that it features "TWIN XBS," but nowhere is there any explanation to help us understand the benefits of this feature. Then there is the matter of distinguishing between the right and left buds. Oh, I'm sorry; I'm mistaken. Well, sort of...but not really. There are "R" and "L" marks on the bud stems; but, I didn't know it until I got out my 10X goggles. The identifiers are no larger than 1/16th of an inch, and are printed in a pale white or gray color. By the way, I just had my vision checked: 20-20 all the way! Come on, Panasonic (and others); spend the nominal money it would take to include better product descriptions and instructions. It does appear that the inclusion of info in other languages has been at least one reason for the false economy. Come on, guys, a little extra paper and ink could save you bundles in customer satisfaction over the long haul. Right now, I'm unhappy with Panasonic, but I've been ill with many companies about this short-sightedness that could be cured so easily and inexpensively.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent headphones   July 2, 2005

I bought these as a replacement for my iPod earbuds. They are a good replacement, with very similar sound and perhaps a bit better bass. Fit is good, at least for my ears. The asymmetrical wires (from the point where it divides, the wire to the the right phone is about 2 and a half times as the wire to the left phone) seemed odd at first, until I realized that I was supposed to run the right wire behind my neck. Having tried it, this design is clearly far superior. You can pop the buds out of your ears and they don't dangle down awkwardly as with other headphones, but remain securely draped around your neck.
