1 out of 5 stars Terribly Disappointed   November 17, 2008
I was terribly disappointed with this product. As an exercise enthusiast I was drawn in by the concept and sold by the great reviews. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience.

The headphones feel cheaply made and I was unimpressed by the flimsy construction. According to the sticker that came stamped on them they were made in China. The instructions that were included with the product were printed in black and white on a single sheet of paper and they actually recommend augmenting the headphones with a piece of scotch tape if you plan on sweating while wearing them. While this left me with an unprofessional first impression, I was still excited to give these things a whirl.

The first "whirl" lasted about 30 minutes into my first cardio session with them. Despite my constant fidgeting, I couldn't get each ear to stay in place while running. I thought I had them comfortably secure going into it, but once I began sweating the ear buds continually slipped out. None the less, I was determined to make it work. I tried attaching the different ear bud sizes and kept reshaping them, trying to get them to fit, but to little avail. Somewhere during this process one of the headphones gave out -- permanently.

I decided to give them another shot while lifting, although this just led to me taking a 10 minute break in my routine to try (and fail) to get them to fit comfortably.

At least the return process was easy.

While I don't doubt that some people have enjoyed these, I strongly caution those of you who are on the fence about purchasing a pair of your own. Look elsewhere. You can get a much higher quality for the price.

5 out of 5 stars Great design, great service!   November 13, 2008
I am exercise junkie and these are the first earphones that work for me in hard, long workouts--Look, Mom, no wires! I liked the first set so much I bought another and sent it to my long distance running daughter who also raves about them. I lost a channel--the left--and could not repair it. I contacted Arriva and a replacement was on its way that day. It does not get much better than this.

5 out of 5 stars Music in your ears... almost like magic.   November 12, 2008
I bought these for myself as a Birthday present along with a 3rd Generation shuffle. The product was a bit back ordered... popular item apparently. The backorder is not list on Amazon.. so contact the seller directly to find out about status.

They simply work well... once you get the fitting just right.

Design:
1) Before I bought it I was worried about how well it would stay clipped on while running...I was surprised when I saw that it has a step on it that uses the shuffle clip to wrap around it... the shuffle is locked in there. If anything... it is a pain to disconnect because it is so well connected...I am always afraid I will crack the mount... but no issues yet.

2) Getting the cables to fit well in your ear takes some trials and twisting (usually during my run) but eventually it fell into place rather quickly.

3) I run with a hat in the early morning (cold mornings)... and that did cause the mount in the back to push down into my neck... but I just pull the hat above it and bend the position a bit and that seems to resolve it. After a mile I am hot so I lose the hat anyways.

Sound:
1) I am not a huge music audio expert... but I have to agree with others... the in-ear is not as nice as even my cheap ones I use... but that could simply be the that I need more tweaking of the position of the wires around my head. It seems if they even come out a little... which happens because of the cable positioning.

Controls:
1) Easy to reach behind the head and change the shuffle settings.

Overall:
There is just such complete freedom from traditional cables... it feels like I just have music in my head. I eel odd running past other people and I know they are saying something to me thinking I have no headphone... I simply smile and wave hello... I must look like a crazy person jamming to "nothing". Worth it though!

Get this product... and a 1Gig shuffle and you have enough music for a marathon.

3 out of 5 stars 5-star design, 2-star sound quality   October 25, 2008

I've been using these headphones now for 3 months. I purchased them mainly for their design. A perfect design for runners. I've spent many a long and hot run in the Georgia summer. The iPod had no issues with getting wet with sweat. As others have said, it's a little tricky to get the cords bent just right for your individual head/ear shape, but after a while it seemed to fit nicely.

The problem I have with the Arriva, and the reason for 3 stars, is the sound quality. I have a pair of $15 headphones that sound much better. If you're only listening to podcasts, the the Arriva might be a good purchase, but if you like listening to music with a sound quality that is better than cheap headphones, then you will be disappointed.

This is a good product with a great design. If Arriva got the sound quality better, I could easily give it a 5-star rating. If you aren't discerning about the sound quality, or if that's not important to you, then I highly recommend these headphones. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

2 out of 5 stars Difficult to adjust   October 3, 2008
I was very excited about this product but I was absolutely unable to get one side adjusted so the earbud stayed in place. Unfortunately I sent them back after I just gave up.
