DO NOT BUY THIS FROM MAGELLAN. they rip u off. this is the same map update for less and its perfect! <3 amazon!

Make sure your battery is fully charged before you do it! Then you will not have any problems. Don't count on the USB power to get it going, charge it first then do it, because if you stop halfway you GPS will lock up and that will be ugly.

I found this update to work just fine for me as my magellan maestro 4040 was not current and with this update it gave me new roads and pois on my maestro unit. I did find that autonavdirect had the most info on this product and cover all magellan automotive gps updates.

Contrary to the written product description and what the customer service reps at Magellan will tell you, this item is NOT compatible with a number of Magellan Maestro models if you're hoping to uprade one to include Canada. Don't waste your time (a significant consideration, insofar as the software involves the most complex download process I have ever experienced) or money.
