| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The ECS is a glass component shelf that adds to the overall appeal of the Elegante system, holding home theater electronics along with the mounted television, in one neat little package. No more unsightly heaps of tangled wires running from walls, components, and televisions all housed in different locations within the room.

Looks nice, works great November 13, 2008 This product is very nice. We were apprehensive about having a glass shelf for AV stuff, especially with kids in the house, but it's proven to be a durable product and is visually unobtrusive. In fact, we're getting ready to order another one and I'm happy to see its still available 2 years after ordering the first one!
We have moved several times over the past few years and one trick I learned with all of this wall mount stuff: if you're mounting into a wood stud, throw away the bulky lag bolts the manufacturers include. At the risk of drawing fire here (and maybe voiding a useless warranty or two) I suggest using Omg FMTLOK04-50 50PK 4" Timberlok Screws for most wall mount products (into wood studs) where a 3/8" (or smaller) lag bolt is used. Timberlok has a 1000lb shear rating and 6000lb pull-out rating when used in standard 1,5" width lumber. The OmniMount shelf can be installed in 5 minutes with a level, pencil & four Timberlok screws.
You can get the 4" Timberlok screws at most home improvement stores but if you want/need the 2.5" bolts, you'll probably have to order them online from FastenMaster. The Timberlok screws install in seconds with most any respectable drill/driver, don't require pre-drilling, a nut driver is included in every package, they can be removed/moved in seconds and they make a pretty small hole than can be easily patched. These things are awesome!
The OmniMount shelf is a great product! If you don't like the size or the fact that it gets dusty or that it takes too long to install, that's your problem, don't blame the product. As mentioned elsewhere, the only suggestion I have would be some type of locking mechanism on the swing arm, but this has never posed any significant issues for us.
Nice Look November 10, 2008 This was perfect for what I needed at the moment. It looks sharp in the living room and adds a touch of class to the room. I am totally happy with this product and everyone comments on it when they come over.
GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!
Great October 30, 2008 I had to buy a shelf high enough to keep the kids from reaching the DVD player. It was very easy to install. It fit perfect under the TV. Just make sure when installing it that you leave room for the DVD player.
Nice shelf - clean and easy to set-up October 15, 2008 This shelf is very well constructed and a breeze to set-up. It seems very hefty and I have no concern at all about putting my FiOS box and my DVD on it over my wall mounted LCD. Clean and simple.
Excellent Shelf for Components October 11, 2008 This is an excellent shelf to put componenets on. It is easy to assembly and mount to the wall. It also looks really great. I currently have an HD TiVo and DVD player sitting on it and have room for more. As others have stated the wire way does not hold that many wires so you may want to look at another way to hide them. Mine is near the corner so I ues a corner wire way I bought from Lowes. I do recommend that once you get it in an area that you like that you tighten the bolt done at the rotation point. By doing this you can lock the shelf in place. I tightened it so it stays were it is at but can still move with a little force. If you have children be carful where you mount it at the edges are rounded but could stil hurt them if they ran into it hard enough.
