As I write this Electronics expo has this for $80 less than Amazon...with $99.00 shipping!

 Buyer beware--glass may shatter when shipping November 11, 2008
My wife and I looked everywhere for a decent priced TV stand. We didn't find anything we liked and w/in our budget at Best Buy or Circuit City (plus, they usually mark up accessories and furniture to a ridiculous level). We were excited about this one when we saw it, but were soon disappointed after receiving the delivery. I had unpacked almost the entire unit before realizing the entire glass top was shattered! I opened a claim with UPS and requested a refund from the etailer, but wanted to issue a warning. Hopefully ours was the exception, and you receive yours with no problem, but be aware.
 Perfit for the TV November 3, 2008
This is the perfit for a 42" TV Keeps the TV low so it does not obstruct the view from the windows behind it. The glass shelves make the stand transparent so its bulk is not noticeable One small quibble --
the back corners of the shleves should be cut off at an angle to allow easier access to the rear of the TV

This tv stand is a very functional piece of furniture which allows me to comfortably arrange my tv equipment in a manner which is more pleasant to the eye than my previous tv stand.
It is also very pleasant to the eye.

This piese of kit is far stronger than I expected. I was on a budjet in Nov'07 when I bought this. We have it close to 8 months and even my wife agrees, this does not happen very often, that it looks quite good and she too was impressed with the build quality.
We have no children in the house and she taught the glass edges might be a bit of a hazard to the wee ones.
Assembly was quite easy. One tool (included) does all. Can be heavy to move around after assembly by one person. If I remember correctly the box recommends a two person lift.
My verdict: Great value for Money.
