Regrettable purchase August 29, 2008 I bought two of these 670s. One for myself and one for my girlfriend. Hers gets more use than mine and just went belly up (just out of warrantee). The words "Safe Mode" appeared on the remote screen, and after more searching than it should have taken, I found instructions claiming it needed "firmware updating". Out of the blue. Well, the USB connector on the remote was hit or miss (tried 3 new cables), but after finding just the right twist to maintain a connection, I tried the firmware up grade. No dice. After wasting two hours of my time, I gave up. It's now trash. When it worked it worked well although the buttons and lettering are tiny.
Fabulous remote August 29, 2008 It is very easy to setup, it is very easy to use - even my outlaws can now turn our home theater system on and off to watch cable, or a movie - they couldn't before.
I have one criticism of this particular device and that is that the buttons and what they do are hard to see unless the "glow" is on - this is a fairly moot point as your fingers will quickly get used to the location of frequently used buttons, but if you are thinking of getting this to simplify the life of an older relative or for someone whose eyesight is not so good, you may want to look for something with clearer buttons - maybe another in the Harmony range because it is so easy to use.
Great Remote August 29, 2008 This remote although a little expensive is a good product and does run my entertainment system, flat screen, bose audio, dvd and my stereo. The only problem is that there are not features on this remote as on some of the other device remotes. This is especially true with the cable return to previous menu, some dvr feature buttons missing, also missing some features from my Samsung flat screen remote. Other than that it seems to run my system well and is very easy to set up!
Great product August 27, 2008 I bought this - my 2nd universal remote to replace the Harmony 659 (its predecessor which died after 2.75 years.)
When I plugged the new one into my computer and pulled up my Harmony account (for the old remote), all of my settings automatically loaded and the remote was set-up in less than 3 minutes. How smart is that?? (Take note large software company in Redmond, WA.)
I know Logitech makes models with rechargeable batteries, but I don't have a problem with this AAA battery model. I change the batteries every couple of months.
My only rap on this remote is that the ergonomics of it are a little off. The rounded back makes it hard to use with one hand. Not a big deal. Very happy with this purchase.
It works like a charm August 24, 2008 This is a great product. To set it up, you have to know some technical details of the devices you want to control but it is worth it.
Even if it fails to turn off/on a device, you can hit the help button to resend the commands to the devices.
It is so convenient to hit one button to watch a movie or the TV.
I liked it so much, I gave another one to a friend has a gift.
