Fantastic bass made even better by the savingsSeptember 1, 2010 gugi The Polk PSW10 provides plenty of deep bass and works easily with many products. If you have a sound bar and are looking for extra bass this product will provide plenty. Adding this to a home theater system is also very easy and provides more bass then you will ever need. What this means is the product should last for a long time because it will not be overused. I am very happy with the purchase and hope to use the product for many years. Great investment so far.
Polk Auto PSW10 SubwooferAugust 29, 2010 Steve I am impressed by this subwoofer, I have had this subwoofer for nine months now and have watched alot of movies and listened to alot of music with it and I like what I have bought. I have got this subwoofer hooked up to a Sony STR-DH800 reciever by RCA Monster cable with a right and left splitter to connect to the subwoofer. Since there is no LFE input I turned the low pass just about all the way up and have got the phase set to 0. This makes enough bass to rattle things in the kitchen one room over, not to mention the picuters on the wall. The auto-on is nice, I have read that there is some lag time but I have not really noticed any. I am pleased with the Polk PSW10 subwoofer.

Boom! Wow!August 28, 2010 A. Issa(Apex, NC USA) Wow - I love base and this sub-woofer does not disappoint! Huge difference to my surround sound system. Makes music sound awesome. You can rock out with this puppy. Well built and looks solid. Highly recommended.
Solid entry level powered subAugust 27, 2010 Michael Bate Got this to replace a failed sub. Instructions are basic, but give enough information to get it hooked up, though they could be a little more helpful. As many have noted, there is no dedicated mono LFE phono hookup, but the instructions clearly state to connect an LFE port cable to either of the L/R phono inputs and dial the low pass control all the way up. This effectively sets the threshold above the one you set in your external amplifier so the result is the same.
The cherry finish looks good, though up close it's clearly a veneer. But for $84 I won't complain at that.
The sound is great. Much clearer (less muddy sounding) than my previous higher priced model, though as many point out, not meant for large rooms (mine is 12' x 30'). I got mine to a sweet spot - just about loud enough for the movie theater experience, with no distortion during explosions, though it took a fair bit of trial and error.
I doubt you can get anything this good below the $100 price point. Before this I tried the Sony SA-W2500 Performance Line 100 Watt Subwoofer but it was nowhere near as powerful or as clear a sound. Great value.
