Great Little TV December 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Needed to replace my OTA portable TV that will be a doorstop in February 09. I balked at the price of this unit, but decided to get it anyway. After some fiddling with the menu and antenna(s), I was able to pick up the same channels as my digital converter box. The picture is sharp, the color great, and the sound is very good. FYI, there is a hole in the bottom for a tripod mount as well as a fold-out prop stand in back. Overall I am happy with this purchase and look forward to years of good use.
Very poor reception! December 1, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read all the reviews prior to purchasing this and thought that since I live in a metropolitan area I wouldn't have any problems getting good reception. Boy was I wrong. I got only one channel and even it wasn't clear. The antenna is a joke. The tv itself is nicely made but they definitely need to improve on the reception as who wants a portable tv that only works with cable. I am returning it and trying the Axion. Let's hope I have better luck.
Very poor reception November 30, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have a portable televsion now that I love but it is not digital so I have to get a new one. I read the reviews on this television and it seemed like a good joice so I ordered it. I was very disappointed with the reception. Even though I live in a very large metropolitan area, I didn't receive even one channel that was clear enough to watch.
Best product ever! I love it. November 22, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pro: Great ATSC digital reception. Bright & sharp screen. Added external antenna for better reception. Easy to operate. Remote control. Built-in battery. Back stand for sitting still on any flat surface. Car cord is included. Con: Analog signal reception is a little weak. Remote control can't do volume up/down. Can't charge internal battery with the car cord. Conclusion: Very good performance. BEST value product. A must-buy for coming holiday season.
I LOVE this TV November 19, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I had a 5" black and white in my kitchen and knew with the digital conversion, I would need something else. I ordered this based on the 2 reviews out there at the time and I am so pleased with this TV. I live in Houston so there are almost 40 channels available between the digital and the analog, I get channels on this that I don't even get on my standard cable! initially I had trouble with some of the digital stations, I kept moving the TV around trying to pick up the signal (my problem was that I want the TV to sit under my cabinets and I guess that was interfering with the antenna picking up clear signals). I was getting frustrated and then remembered the other antenna it comes with. I unplugged the internal connection and plugged this extra antenna in and placed it on my window sill and all the channels came in perfectly without having to adjust anything. The cord on the extra stand up antenna is long enough to put it rather far from the TV which is very convenient because you can move it around to find the best reception. The picture is clear as a whistle and the sound is very good, not muffled or fuzzy at all. The wide screen is another bonus, most of the digital HD channels are in wide screen mode so it works out well. This is a no brainer to set up and I am so glad I took the plunge and bought it!
