Each two-way speaker is equipped with a 6.5-inch injection-molded cone woofer with a rubber surround for high power handling and durability, as well as dual 0.75-inch Teteron dome tweeters that reproduce exceptionally clear high frequencies. The speakers not only offer a broad 55 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response--helping them excel as either front or rear speakers in a surround system--but the Teteron tweeters are timbre matched to mesh with other Athena speakers, such as Audition floorstanding and bookshelf models. As with any home project, however, homeowners should carefully determine the ideal listening location and find a spot devoid of studs, insulation, moisture, and debris before installing the speakers (the AS-IW6s require a mounting cutout of 7.5 by 10.8 inches (W x H) and a depth of 3.3 inches).
