Dayton Audio, known for producing maximum bang for the buck subwoofers, has enlisted the expertise of world-renowned subwoofer designer Dr. Hsu to create the Dayton Audio Elite subwoofer line. As typical of Dr. Hsu subwoofer designs, these subs are impressive and authoritative. Only the best possible components were considered for use, and each subwoofer has been designed to create amazing low frequency performance at a price that's more affordable than many "high-end" subwoofers. A flared port has been used to reduce port chuffing and sound localization for unlimited placement options. Stereo line-level inputs and parallel outputs allow these subwoofers to be used in a 2.1 setting or for stereo subwoofer applications, and a mono LFE input with a Crossover Bypass switch enables use with a receiver that low-passes information to a subwoofer. Lastly, a variable phase adjustment helps to adapt each subwoofer to unique rooms for the greatest amount of output. Great value October 22, 2008
Ive had it for a week and tried it out with LOTR(Fellowship of the ring) and Ironman. For an apt, this sub is overkill, even though the listening area is 17X15, I had to turn the sub-knob down to 1/4. I dont think I could ever reach the limits of this sub. Great product!!!
As for music, I havent quite integrated it with my mains yet, but the bass is clear for sure. Just need to spend some time with some "reference" songs and get it right...
