I bought this speaker to replace the cube center speaker that came with my sony surround reciever. I hooked it up and i loved what i heard. Clear crisp amazing dialogues, i can totally tell the difference right away. I think the price is reasonable and the product you get is great.
 Sony Center speaker - Good sound Small price November 18, 2008
Just finished installing a new 5.1 home theater / music system in my living room using this center speaker, the Sony BB-1000 small bookshelf speakers for the left / right front and surrounds, and the Sony 12 inch , 200 watt subwoofer. This whole shebang cost $360 here on Amazon.com... It's a bargain for very good sound.
This CN-5000 is perfectly matched to the B-1000's. I bet it would sound just as good with the larger bookshelf models or even the floor standing speakers in this Sony product line.
I used to be an audio tweak. Bought and sold very expensive speakers that were made by boutique shops. I still have a "serious" stereo system in another room, I listen to LP records on that stereo. In comparison, this Sony system is "modern". The higher octaves are forward and bright. The mid-range is very smooth. The bass is somewhat amorphous. You know, it sounds like a sound system in a typical club. JBL style bright, loud, punchy. Gets you attention. That's not a bad thing when your $360 sound system is primarily to be used for watching action DVD's. Ooooo, I want to hear all those explosions in Ironman again!
Awesome Sound September 6, 2008
Per a friend who happens to have a better ear for sound, pitch & tones. He listened to my system and gave the approval of it producing good sound. I've received other compliments from others as well. Mostly they are in disbelief like, "that little box is pushing all that sound", and "it sounds so crisp." I'm content with my purchase. Get one of these, you won't regret it.

I have the Sony STRD510 receiver and 5.1 speaker setup and this center channel is perfect.
Excellent Buy March 22, 2008
These speakers are quite a buy. Excellent sound. You would really expect that they would be twice the price. Friends can't believe what we paid for them. Very pleased. They also look very nice in room.
