Clear Crisp Sound November 19, 2008 I have been very pleased with these speakers. I have always had a good experience with Bose and these work great with my new Mac setup.
amazing sound, but... November 19, 2008 expensive, try to find them on sale somewhere, i got mine for 73 plus 8 shipping...nothing beats bose in terms of sound... perfect size.
Top Dollar, Half the performance November 17, 2008 I purchased the Bose Companion Computer Speakers about six months ago. When I first purchased them I was very content and happy. The looked slick, clean, and fresh, though was I plugged them into my computer a different story was told. The quality from these speakers which are suppose to be "top-of-the-line" sound, created the worst distortion ever. If you are in the mood to listen to light piano melodies at a soft volume then these speakers are for you, though if you are having a few friends over for a get together and needs some tunes, do not expect to get too much support from these speakers. My suggestion to you as the consumer is if you are going to spend top dollar for some quality speakers, make sure you get speakers that will give you top performance rather than speakers who wuss out on you after you have the volume only half way up. I wondered why people said BOSE stood for "Buy..Other..Speakers..Eventually". Now I see why...
Very good November 15, 2008 It sounds very good, especially the low part. The high part is just so so. Anyway, as a computer speaker system, it is quite strong.
Design not thought out, sound quality terrible November 12, 2008 I picked up these speakers, thinking I was treating myself to great sound from my computer. When I opened the package the first annoyance (minor) was the complexity of the design. After reading the instructions though it was a snap to put together.
the first major annoyance was the fact that the cable that connects the two speakers is not long enough to get any depth from my computer. I was very disappointed, knowing that Bose makes a fair bit of margin I don't see why they would skimp here (the cables aren't high quality anyways). I wanted to have good separation from left to right, this was not possible.
Okay I tell myself, they're ugly as sin, they have a terribly thoughtless design for my intended use, but hey they're Bose, they will sound great.
Sound is terrible. There is no bass what so ever. The sound is tinny at best even at low levels. I constantly had to adjust volume because there is no depth to the music so different songs went from being okay to hurting my ears.
These speakers are worse than the ones inside of my computer.
Recommendation, do not buy, instead pick up some soundsticks.
