Great Sounding December 3, 2008 This is probably some of the best speakers I have heard on a computer. I was in need of a good 2.1 surround and more speakers than that would be way to many. I did not want to make my computer a media center or anything so 2.1 would be sufficient. I have owned these for about a year or so and so far no technical problems. When I play video games the sound really comes through nicely and I am greatly pleased with my purchase. My little nicks I had was with stuff like never getting the sound low enough without one speaker kicking off and the overall size of the speakers are a downer. I never really had a need of blasting the sound often but when I did I noticed no difference in quality of sound. I also noticed a huge difference in sound when I used my XiFi Fatality soundcard and the quality of sound became more clear and more lively through my own customization. The sound wasn't inferior or anything without the card but since I already had it I used it. I would recommend these speakers to anyone looking for a good 2.1 system.
Absolutely incredible! November 23, 2008 I cannot express how great these speakers are. They are the best set of desktop speakers I have ever owned. One thing I would like to cover is the evident failure rate of this system. It seems to be with most people that this system goes out in about a year. This has not been the case with me. My speakers have lasted me about 2 years so far, and they are working just as well as when they started.
The quality of the sound that comes out of these speakers is just phenomenal for a desktop system. Great, clear, distinctive highs, rich lows, and good mid-range. This system is definitely a demonstration of the abilities of Klipsch.
More than satisfied October 16, 2008 I read some reviews on the ProMedia 2.1 calling its longevity into question, but I went ahead and bought it after comparing it to similar JBL, Logitech, Bose, and Harmon Kardon speakers. After three years I am still blown away by the sound I hear! Whenever I buy new music, I always listen to it on the ProMedia 2.1 first to find out how it REALLY sounds - clear and distinct lows, mids, and highs, with pounding bass. The self-proclaimed audiophile downstairs has a 7.1 setup, and my puny 2.1 system takes his to the line, if not outdoes it. Thanks, Klipsch. I'm much more than satisfied.
Perceptibly Superior October 10, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been an audiophile for 30 years and have owned some amazing sound equipment. A year ago I read about the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 and found people raving about them. I'd stumbled into 2.1 crap speakers from CA thinking it's just PC sound so who cares? I should have known better than that - my ears have an elitist bent that must be catered by a great sounding speaker.
I bought the ProMedias, and I'm more than thrilled. They are a joy! Until you own your own you can't imagine how clean, and totally enjoyable they are when your favorite stuff is coming out of them. With the ProMedias I don't get fatigued by bass pounding me, but yet the bass is STRONG and powerful and deep and heavy and kick butt!!! There's a bass control on the left speaker and you can set the bass to your preference in regards to how the volume complements the sound. Voices and all mids and highs are natural without sounding airy or lifeless. The sound coming out of these is perceptibly superior! I listen to various sources of music, and these speakers do a fantastic job of any and all of it.
Compared to the Bose PC speakers: Save your money. The Bose PC speakers are very nice, but these ProMedias are hundreds less, and sound great! I've owned Bose products in the past and have no beef with them.
Do you need 4 or 5 or 7 speakers surrounding you and blasting you from every direction? OK. These aren't for you. For the rest of us they will wonderfully and effortlessly fill the room with rich, vibrant sound.
The speakers can disappear into your room - they're just black boxes with a grill cloth (except the little power light - a necessary evil, I suppose).
I recommend these Klipsch ProMedia 2.1s! I can't say enough good things about them. They're the best value available. Period!! You can't ask for a better sounding speaker system unless you're going to spend $600-$800 or more (and have a high end sound card, etc). The ProMedias cost less than $150 - usually around $110-130.
Rock the house!
