Great ! September 28, 2007 I probably would not own a projector if I hadn't found this one so reasonably priced. We use it to show movies outside on a 13' X 25' custom made screen and inside on the wall 8 X 12. Although we have found this projector does best with the Animated movies because of the vivid colors.
100% satisfied March 28, 2007 I use this product to watch dvd or computer movies. No complaint at this regard: Nearly "film like" quality image. Ddvd native resolution is 640x480. Why shoud I pay more for resolution I am not goin to use? In addition, DLP seems to put pixels so attached that you wouldnt note the "srceen effect" as you would with lcd; this amazed me. If your case is dvd watching this device works prety well. I payed $615 last december. Then a friend of mine was going to buy it but Amazon had rised the price to $850. What happend? Other internet shops are offering it below $600. Amazon please check your price: Seems out of the market.
Great projector, but... February 14, 2007 ...my lamp just burned out at 390 hours, after four months of use. Ouch. The manufacturer will only replace the lamp within 90 days, so I'm pretty much out of luck short of buying a new lamp.
On the plus side, the image is fantastic, and I never even noticed the 'rainbow' effect that other reviewers have seen. It is certainly a good projector for the money, but I wish I would have known I was going to have to dump an extra $200 into it within the first six months!
Good price, good weight, good brightness, bad size February 12, 2007 So far, its being a good equipment for the price i paid, the brightness its good and the resolution is aceptable. I hope it could work at least for one year. The size is not properly to travel, so the weight is ok but the size not.
RAINBOWS killed an otherwise great machine February 9, 2007 Pros: VERY quiet operation. Cools down quickly. The machine is VERY lightweight, and seems as well built as any in this price range. The company didn't skimp on the included cords, and a component-to-VGA adapter. Each cord even comes with a little velcro strap to keep them tidy. I returned this projector to Amazon, and the process was smooth and painless.
Cons: RAINBOWS GALORE! If you are sensitive to them, don't buy this one- I suspect that it has a slow color wheel. (Newer, faster DLPs supposedly don't suffer from the rainbows.) On this machine, black-and-white movies and anything with subtitles are unwatchable. The focus is rather soft and clunky, and, of course, the resolution is low. The "Hide" feature blacks out the screen promptly, but when pressed again, shows the start-up screen for four seconds while the projector acquires the signal again (even with "Signal Lock" on). I would rather it showed black until it was ready to continue, though I suppose you could upload your own all-black start-up screen (a nice feature with this model).
