good product for the money December 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
There are many such products on the market, most of them quite pricey. None of them, in my opinion, actually provide even a poor imitation of "surround sound." The MAINstage speaker system, however, does a good job within its limitations, i.e., improving the sound of the normally inadequate speakers in most flat screen tvs.
Very pleased! November 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If your room doesn't allow for multiple speakers and cables running around the carpet get this product! It's not as good as a full surround system but VERY good if you don't want cable hell!!!
I use it with my TV, DVD and music system - I'm very pleased with the quality and film experience.
Loud...But That's About It September 12, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I owned a Soundmatters unit for about a year before giving up on it. Although it pumped out lots of volume, the dialogue it produced was so muffled that I often couldn't make it out. After a year, the unit began to malfunction, often refusing to turn on. I took that as a cue to switch back to my television's speakers, which actually produce clearer, if quieter and less bass-heavy sound. If you like lots of volume with decent bass, this might satisfy. But if clarity of dialogue matters, skip the Soundmatters.
Awesome! April 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I placed this just under my TV inside the armoire. I used the fiberoptic connections and this thing really works great. What a huge difference between the TV alone and with this speaker. The sound literally is thrown at you and you do get a surround sound effect. I will say it is likely not as good as true surround speakers but this product will not let you down.
Great Sound March 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This unit sounds great. I've plugged in my tv, 2 dvd players and my stereo, hooked up my own Sub, plus the cable box and still have connections left over. For now the unit is in middle row of a tv stand with 2 inchs of clearance on each side, and about a inch and half on top, and a inch below, and the thing still makes a solid wall of sound.
